8 Mistakes to Avoid When Choosing a Gender Reveal Decorations Kit
The kit that looked perfect online and arrived without the one piece you needed. Eight things to check before you click buy.

You have twelve tabs open, every kit has a pink and blue picture, and you are one click away from ordering. Then you notice you cannot tell what is actually in the box.
Here are the eight mistakes people make most often, and how to avoid each of them.
1. Not checking what is included
A photo can show far more than the box holds. Read the contents list and match it against what you want on the table: plates, napkins, cups, balloons, a sign, a backdrop.
2. Ignoring the palette
Some kits mix pastels with bright primaries. If the rest of your party is soft, choose a kit that is too.
3. Choosing by price alone
The cheapest option can mean buying the missing pieces separately. Count what you would still need before comparing.
4. Forgetting the guest count
Plates and cups come in set numbers. Check them against your list, then add a few.
5. Skipping the details of the reveal
How will the news arrive? Confetti, powder, a cake? Check that the kit includes the reveal item you want, and read how it works.
6. Ordering too late
Order early enough to open the box and fix anything that is off. Our two-week timeline shows when each step fits.
7. Not planning where things will go
A backdrop needs a wall, a table needs room and a balloon arch needs a ceiling or hooks. Decide first, then order.
8. Not reading the terms
Check delivery and returns before you buy. The shipping page and the returns page cover both.
If you are torn between two kits, put the contents lists side by side and tick off what you need from each. The one with fewer gaps is usually the better value, even if it costs a little more at the start.
What a good kit looks like
Pieces that match each other, a clear list of contents and a focal point built in. This is the idea behind ours.
Compare it with the others in the gender reveal collection, choose with a calm head and then enjoy the waiting. The kit is only the beginning of the surprise.
